Man threatened passers-by with hand grenade



Niederpleis - shock at the Old Market Street in Niederpleis: There was suddenly a man (35) along with a hand grenade and threatened the terrified passers-by.
Fearful witnesses called the police, who found the man shortly afterwards and was overwhelmed. The grenade he was carrying when arrested in his jacket pocket.
It was a training grenade, as the officials noted. This is however not without, and may well cause serious injury if it is ignited in the vicinity.
Officials of the ordnance-clearing services the grenade safe. That the man they ever had here, is a violation of the War Weapons Control Act.
The 35-year-old was considerably under the influence, and could scarcely articulate. To an alcohol test, he was not in the Lage.Er first came to the sobering up in a detention cell. Criminal proceedings have been initiated.
